Almaty · autonomous air delivery
We lift delivery
into the sky.
DRONEEXPRESS is building Kazakhstan’s first autonomous delivery service that flies beyond the operator’s visual line of sight. Heavy cargo drones, digital airspace and a fleet run by the system.
“First” is the project’s stated positioning.
01About
We are not building a drone. We are building infrastructure.
DRONEEXPRESS is an autonomous air logistics project from Kazakhstan. We bring aviation, logistics, software and digital infrastructure together into one continuous loop: from an order in the app to the aircraft’s return to base.
Our goal is to make the sky above the city a working road for cargo. No traffic lights, no parking, no traffic jams.
- Autonomous
- The system plans and flies every mission. People supervise rather than pilot.
- BVLOS
- Flights beyond the operator’s visual line of sight - across the whole city, not just around the warehouse.
- Industrial
- Up to 50 kg of commercial cargo per flight.
- Scalable
- The goal is one operator for dozens of aircraft at once.
02Why the city needs it
Almaty’s roads are full. The sky is open.
Drone delivery means carrying cargo through the air on an unmanned aircraft: straight from the pickup point to the drop-off point, along a pre-approved corridor.
In Almaty the last mile is limited not by distance but by time: traffic, parking, waiting at the address. The car-based model scales poorly - more orders mean more vehicles and more congestion. An air route breaks that cycle: it never sits in traffic and never looks for parking.
Numbeo Traffic Index, first half of 2025.
A conceptual comparison of routes, not a flight time estimate.
03Aircraft
A heavy cargo drone. Industrial class.
Not a small courier drone but a cargo platform. The service is built around an aircraft that lifts up to 50 kg, flies every day and does not depend on any single part.
A protected container, a winch, a parachute system, sensors on every side and communications over several channels. The aircraft is designed as part of the city’s infrastructure, not as a gadget.
What it carries
04Handover
The drone does not land at the customer.
The aircraft hovers over the point while the winch lowers a protected container. Cargo handover is part of the flight architecture, not a bolt-on.
05BVLOS
Flying beyond visual line of sight takes different technology.
We design delivery for full BVLOS from the start - flights beyond the operator’s visual line of sight. That means the aircraft has to see for itself, stay connected and make decisions, and every critical function needs a backup. So the drone is built from eight systems that work as one.
The flight controller stabilises the aircraft, runs the mission and links all onboard systems.
Not one sensor. Not one link. Not one point of failure. Open architecture: any component can be replaced.
06Automation
Delivery is run by the system, not by a pilot.
Every DRONEEXPRESS flight runs fully automatically. Two systems make that happen: UTM manages the sky, FMS manages the fleet.
The layer between the fleet, the airspace and the regulators. Without it, BVLOS delivery cannot exist as a service.
- Monitors and controls the airspace
- Accounts for restrictions and issues routes
- Clears every flight before takeoff, not after
- Coordinates aircraft in flight and sends notifications
Turns an order into a mission, carries it through to the end, then starts the next one.
- Assigns an available aircraft
- Runs pre-flight checks
- Monitors telemetry, batteries and cargo
- Keeps the log and swaps the battery for the next flight
The operator sees the whole fleet and steps in only on a signal: a failed check, a lost link, a route deviation.
People supervise the system instead of flying every mission by hand.
A target operating model, not an achieved result.
07Cycle
From order to next mission: one system.
Aviation, logistics, software and digital infrastructure in one continuous loop. Each mission starts the next one without stopping.
For business clients - a mobile app and a web dashboard: batch delivery, scheduled routes, fleet integration.
08Pilot
From one aircraft to a city fleet.
The technology search stage is behind us: the concept, the architecture and the component selection are in place. The next key step is a full flight pilot, in which a single aircraft tests the entire system.
A finished architecture does not mean finished testing. Scaling to a fleet depends on the pilot, approvals and funding.
We are moving delivery
from traffic to the sky.
We are preparing a flight pilot in Almaty and looking for partners who need this as much as we do. Let’s discuss the launch.
